Walter Flora

Funeral rites were conducted on Monday afternoon from the Flora German Baptist church for Walter Flora, 68, retired Carroll county businessman.  Rev. Harvey Wagoner and Clem Skiles officiated and burial was in Maple Lawn cemetery.  Leiter funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

   Mr. Flora died Saturday morning at his home in Flora following a lingering illness.  He formerly operated the Carrollton hatchery and Bringhurst department store.

  Born near Bringhurst, he spent his life in the Bringhurst and Flora area.  He was married in 1912 to Clara A. Wolfe and was a member of the German Baptist church.

   Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Thelma Patrick Long and a son, Leo, both of Bringhurst; a brother, Rufus of Flora; 3 sisters, Nancy Wolf, Eva Wolf and Lula Skiles, all of Bringhurst.
