Mrs. Nellie Hufty Gruber, 88, of Delphi died Friday morning, January 28, 1977, at the Brethren’s Home, Flora, where she had been a resident for several months. Born September 6, 1888, she was the daughter of Jasper and Amanda Ginn Hufty. She was married March 27, 1919, to Larry Gruber, who preceded her in death in 1975. A life resident of Carroll County, she was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, the Tippecanoe Extension Homemakers Club, the Tipwa Grange, and the Worthwhile Club. Surviving are one son, Everett Gruber of Levittown, N.Y.; one daughter, Mrs. Freída Page of Tuscon, Ariz.; one step-son,, Forest Owens of Anaheim, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were Tuesday at Jackson Funeral Home, Delphi, with the Rev. Donald Ashley officiating. Burial was in the Delphi IOOF Cemetery.
