Funeral services for Blanche Allen Balser, 87, Delphi, were Saturday afternoon at Jackson Funeral Home in Delphi.  She died at 1 a.m. Wednesday of last week in Home Hospital, Lafayette.
   Born Aug. 8, 1888, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ella Sleeth Allen.  She was married to Burr S. Balser on Jan. 4, 1923.
   She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church and had served as district past secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She served over 35 years as chaplain of Rose Chapter OES and was a member of the Deer Creek Extension Homemakers Club, the Delphi Historical Association, and the Delphi Questers Club.
   Survivors include one son, Richard of Tulsa, Okla., and three granddaughters.  Her husband and a son preceded her in death.
   Rev. Donald Ashley officiated at the services with burial following in the Delphi Masonic Cemetery.  Eastern Star services were conducted Friday night.
