James Harry Brewer - Class Of 1909

James Harry Brewer, 66, of Delphi, died Saturday afternoon of a heart attack while he was visiting at the Eagles Lodge in Delphi. Born here Dec. 11, 1892, he was the son of John and Anna Gilpin Brewer. A truck driver and factory worker, he had spent his lifetime in this community where he was a member of the Church of God and the Eagles Lodge. Surviving are the widow, Elinor Henderson Brewer; a son, Elbert of Burrows; three daughters, Mrs. James King of Kokomo, Mrs. Bernard Wray and Mrs. Harold Hayden of West Delphi; two stepdaughters, Mrs. David L. Morris of Lafayette and Mrs. William J. Bagley, Jr., of Oakridge, Tenn.; 4 brothers. Charles, Kansas City; William, of West Delphi; Frank of Fowler and Harley of Marion. Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Silas Ward of Delphi, and Mrs, Albert Myer of Lafayette. Funeral rites were held from the Jackson funeral home Tuesday with Rev. Frederic Chandler officiating. Burial was in the Pittsburg cemetery.
