Word has been received here of the sudden death of Mrs. L. H. Brooker, 53, at Lancaster, Wisconsin. She was the former Katherine Higginbotham well known here. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Higginbotham and was born October 23, 1891. She was a graduate of the Delphi high school. Mrs. Brooker was very active in civic affairs. Woman’s club and Pythian Sisters at Lancaster. Her marriage to Lloyd Brooker occurred on February 1, 1921. Besides the husband she leaves two daughters Dorothy, a senior at National Kinter- garten College at Evanston, Wisconsin and Barbara, a Junior at Lancaster high school: two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Richards, Lancaster and Mrs. .Bert Mount, Long Meadow, Mass., and a brother, R. F. Higginbotham at Santa Barbara, Calif. Death which occurred Tuesday, August 28, was attributed to a heart attack. Funeral services were held at Lancaster at the Haskins Funeral Home at 4 p.m., Thursday, with Rev. T. O’Neill Hoffman officiating and burial at Hill Side cemetery. Delphi Journal September 6, 1945
