Ivy Jackson (Neff) - Class Of 1909

Mrs. Walter Neff, 72, of rural route 4, Delphi, died at her home Tuesday morning following an illness of several months. She was found dead by her son, Roger, whom she had just called because of the illness of her husband. Mr. Neff remains in the hospital, where he was taken in the Eikenberry ambulance at that time. Born Iva Adeline Jackson August 20,1889, in Grant county, Kansas, she was the daughter of James and Ida McCain Jackson. Her marriage to Walter Neff was on April 24, 1912, and he survives. She was a member of the Burrows Presbyterian church, Carroll Chapter DAR, the Indiana Academy of Science, and the Asa Gray Mechanical Association of the United States. She attended Winona College and taught school two years. She was the author of several articles for Sunday School magazines and papers. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Herman S., of Bringhurst, Roger F. of rural route 4, Delphi; and one sister, Mrs. Helen Jackson, and one brother, Charles Jackson, both of Logansport; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Eikenberry funeral home, in Delphi, with Reverend James Rankin officiating. Burial will be in the Delphi IOOF cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday (today).
