Newell E. Cox, 67, of Logansport, a former assessor of Deer Creek Twp., died Tuesday evening in Memorial hospital.
  A native of White county, he was born April 4, 1891, the son of George and Mary Cunningham Cox.  He was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian church in Logansport.  The family resided in this county, south of Delphi and in Camden until the late 1930's when they moved to Logansport.
  Surviving are the widow, Flossie; two daughters, Mrs. Dallas Edging of Oak Forest, Illinois, and Mrs. Robert Blevens of Seattle, Washington; a sister, Mrs. Esther Cox Gregg, route 3, Delphi, former Carroll County Health nurse.
  Friends may call at the McCloskey-Hamilton chapel in Logansport.  Funeral rites will be conducted there at 2:30 P.M. Friday.
