John Ray Rush - Class Of 1910

John Ray Rush, 65, a resident of Tippecanoe township, died Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had been in failing health for two years. Born August 31, 1890 in this county, he was the son of Benjamin and Louella Ziles. He graduated from Delphi high school in 1910 and had engaged in farming the same farm all of his lifetime. He was a member of the Tipwa Grange. Mr. Rush was married three times. His first wife, Ruby Hufty, died in 1913. His second wife, Bessie Woods, died in 1930. In 1932 he married Louise Parrott of Delphi. Surviving are the widow, Louise; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Ginn of route 2, Delphi, and Miss Nancy Rush of Lafayette; two sons. Paul of Lafayette, and Donald of Brookston; a sister, Mrs. Frank Smith of Brookston. Funeral rites were conducted at the Thompson funeral home in Brookston Tuesday with Rev. Harry Parker of Dayton and Rev. Lewis Deardorff of the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial was in the IOOF cemetery Delphi.
