Tommy Clifford - Class Of 1910

Thomas Clifford, 57, died suddenly Monday morning at his residence in Delphi following a heart attack about 5 o'clock. Death occurred about 15 minutes after the first attack. Born in Delphi, the son of James and Margaret McCain Clifford, he had lived here throughout his entire life time. He was a member of the St. Joseph's church, the American Legion, having served overseas during World War I, and the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph's church. Clifford's grocery, begun here by James Clifford, has been a community institution for many years, and Thomas Clifford had been associated in the business all his life with his brother Hubert. Survivors include three brothers, Hubert, James and Timothy, all of Delphi; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Josephine) Thieme of Lafayette and Miss Nelletta Clifford of Delphi. Services were held at St. Joseph church Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock with Rev. Father Paul Anderson officiating. Burial was made in the St. Joseph cemetery with Grimm funeral home in charge.
