Elizabeth Troxell - Class Of 1894

Miss Elizabeth W. Troxell, 79, of North Union street, Delphi, passed away at 1 am Monday at St. Elizabeth hospital, where she had been treated for second degree burns sustained when a gas oven exploded, on April while preparing dinner at the home of her sister, Mrs. George Garrison, with whom she made her home the past few years. Born at Pittsburg, April 22, 1875, she was a daughter of John O. and Mary E Gosnell Troxell. She was graduated from the Delphi high school, and clerked at the W. B. Wason store for 20 years. Later she served as bookkeeper at the Clauser Coal Co., for ten years. She was a member of the Delphi Presbyterian church and Rose chapter Eastern Star. She leaves a sister, Mrs. George Garrison, Delphi and two nieces, Mrs. James Brewer, Delphi and Miss Mary Startzman, West Palm Beach Florida. Funeral rites wert held at the Jackson funeral home at 2 pm. Wednesday. Rev. James W. Rankin officiated with internment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Pittsburg.
