Clarence Wingard - Class Of 1896

     Clarence E. Wingard, 84, a retired farmer, died Saturday morning at the Wingard homestead, northeast of Delphi.  The farm on which he resided had been homesteaded by his ancestors in 1838.

     Born in Deer Creek township, August 30, 1878, his parents were Eli and Elizabeth Itskin Wingard.  He was a member of the Delphi Christian church.

     Surviving are a nephew, Wilbur Wingard of Battlesville, Oklahoma and a niece, Catherine Rogers of DesMoines, Iowa.

     Rites were held Tuesday morning from the Eikenberry chapel with Rev. Milton Mikesell officiating.  Burial was in the Wingard cemetery.
