Charles Odell - Class Of 1897

Charles N. Odell, 94, former Delphi restaurant and hotel employee and last survivor of a pioneer Carroll County family, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday of last week at the Carroll County Home, Rt. 4, Delphi, where he had resided since February, 1966.
  He was born November 30, 1875 at Delphi, the son of John and Elizabeth Odell.  His father was a prominent lawyer and a Carroll County historian.  His grandfather, John, was one of the first white settlers in Carroll County, and he settled in Clay Township.
  He was a member of the Delphi Baptist Church, the Delphi Masonic Lodge, and received his 50-year membership pin in the Odd Fellows Lodge on January 17, 1955.
  Services were Saturday afternoon at Sullivan-Lloyd Funeral Home in Delphi with Pastor Laurence Dove officiating.  Interment was in Masonic Cemetery.
  He has no immediate survivors.  A sister preceded him in death.
