Sarah Armstrong (Johnson) - Class Of 1897

Mrs. Sarah Armstrong Johnson, 88, of Delphi died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Lesley Nursing Home at Buck Creek. She had been a patient there since last July. She was born at Delphi and lived in the community all her life. Her marriage on June 21, 1899 was to Emil Johnson who died May 17, 1964. She was a member of the Delphi Methodist Church and taught in tne Sunday School for 40 years. Before going to the nursing home, Mrs. Johnson lived in the home of her foster daughter, Mrs. Joseph Jackman, Rt. 6, Lafayette, for several months. Survivors include four nieces and a nephew. Final rites will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, at the Jackson Funeral Home. Rev. David Abel will officiate and interment will be in the Delphi I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
