Charles Julius - Class Of 1898

Charles O. (better known throughout the community as "C. O.”) Julius, 82, a retired Delphi clothing merchant, died Saturday morning in Home Hospital, Lafayette, after a lingering illness. Born in Clinton county, May 18, 1877, he was the son of Mathias and Nancy Sheets Julius. He was married in 1909 to Effie Klepinger. Mr. and Mrs. Julius were to have observed their golden wedding anniversary on Tuesday of this week. For 44 years C. O. owned and operated the Julius Clothing Store in Delphi. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church, the IOOF and Masonic Lodges and Delphi Rotary. At the same time Mr. Julius died in Home hospital, Lafayette, his half-brother, Harry Julius, died in the VA Hospital in Prescott, Arizona, it was learned here Sunday. Surviving are the widow; a son, Robert, Flora clothing merchant; a sister, Mrs. Yetta Hollowell, of Freemont, Michigan. Funeral rites were held Monday afternoon from the Eikenberry funeral home in Delphi with Rev. Robert Wilburn, Rev. Wilbur Day, and Rev. O. P. Marker officiating. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery.
