Leroy Kerlin - Class Of 1899

Word was received here by Mrs. E. O. Grimm of the death of Dr. Leroy B. Kerlin, a practicing pharmacist In Ft. Lauderdale for over 30 years. He died on his 87th birthday. Burial was in Lauderdale Memorial Park. Dr. Kerlin was born in Delphi, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kerlin. He was graduated from Purdue University in 1902 and went to Ft. Lauderdale in 1934 from Elkhart. He founded Kerlin’s South Side Pharmacy in 1940 and retired three years ago. Dr. Kerlin and his wife, Mrs. Katherine Gresham Kerlin, lived at 26 SE Ninth Ave., and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 26. The couple had two children, a son, John Kerlin, and a daughter, Mrs. Jane Platt. He was founder and honorary life member of the Broward Pharmaceutical Assn. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Ft. Lauderdale Shrine Club and the Florida Pharmaceutical Association.
