Dies; Rites Friday
DELPHI — Mrs. Mary Sims
Clauser, 79, of Lafayette, greatgreat-
granddaughter of General
Samuel Milroy, early Carroll
county settler, died at noon
Tuesday at the Home hospital
in Lafayette following a lingering
illness.
Born Aug. 2, 1884 in Carroll
county, she was the daughter of
Joseph Allen and Carrie Milroy
Sims. Her marriage on April
19, 1906 in Delphi was to Dr.
Albert Clauser and he died in
1947. Dr. Clauser practiced in
Delphi for many years.
She was a member of the
Presbyterian church in Lafayette;
the Delphi Oracle Club,
Lafayette Chapter, DAR, the
Mary L. Mathews Club, and
was a former county chairman
of the Women's Federated Clubs
and past president of the Delphi
Women's Club. She also served
on the library board. She was
a 1905 graduate of Purdue University.
Survivors include two sons,
Stewart, of Lafayette, and Robert,
Detroit; a brother, John
M. Sims, Clarendon Hills, Ill.,
and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cornell
funeral home in Delphi with
Rev. James Rankin officiating.
Burial will be in the Masonic
cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
home after 6 p.m. Wednesday
and after noon Thursday.
