Miss Goldie A. Scott, 69, a beloved and highly respected former teacher in the Delphi school system, died at Robert Long hospital, Indianapolis, Tuesday afternoon following an illness of 10 days with, a heart condition. Born in Delphi, March 13, 1884, she was the daughter of Thomas H. and Ella (Heintz) Scott. She taught school 35 years, 31 of which was in the Delphi junior high school. Miss Scott retired from the teaching field during World War and had in recent years been employed as a governess for wealthy Indianapolis children. Thus she rounded out a life of devotion to children. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ross (Mary) Allen of Flora; two nephews and two nieces. Friends may call at the Carter funeral home in Flora where fimeral rites Will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery, Delphi. Delphi Citizen December 3, 1953 GOLDIE SCOTT, who died Tuesday in Indianapolis, was one of our favorite school teachers. How well we recall her class in our junior high school days and there are hundreds upon hundreds of residents in the community who will likewise remember this dear woman who taught for more than 30 years in the local school. Miss Scott took great delight in following the careers of her former pupils and always remembered them with a congratulatory letter whenever the occasion warranted such a note. We are sure that the hundreds of former pupils of Miss Scott join Main Street in extending sympathy to the family. Main Street is an editorial column.
