Ella McClure (Shultz) - Class Of 1877

Mrs. J. J. Shultz, age 71 years, died Tuesday evening at her home in Delphi after a few days illness following a cerebral hemorrhage which she suffered Saturday evening while entertaining a few friends. Mrs. Shultz was born in West Virginia and came to Delphi with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A, McClure when she was 7 years of age. Mrs. Shultz attended the local schools and graduated from the Delphi high school. She was married to Dr. Shultz in 1881 and they have spent their entire married life here, where she has endeared herself to the community. Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Jennie Taylor of Lafayette, Dr. Ione Clayton of Arkansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Helen Voak of Devils Lake, SD.; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Gwinn of Chicago, Miss Mary McClure and Miss Edith McClure of Washington, D. C. and one brother, Clay McClure of New York, who are all here with the exception of the two sisters in Washington. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 o’clock this afternoon from the Methodist church of which she was a member, conducted by Rev. O. P. Manker; burial in the Masonic cemetery.
