Lycurgus Fisher - Class Of 1880

Lycurgus Fisher

Lycurgus Fisher, a High School alumnus of the class of 1880, died on Wednesday morning at the residence of his father, near Pittsburg. Young Fisher had been ill for some days, and his death was not unexpected. It is but a few short weeks since he participated in the graduating exercises of his class, delivering the salutatory, and creating a most favorable impression upon the minds of the audience. His address and his general standing in the class gave evidence of a superior aptitude combined with studious habits and a commendable desire to excel in everything to which he bended his energies. His early death will be mourned by a legion of friends, but by none more sincerely than by the classmates who had, in years of close association, learned to admire his sturdy manhood and love his genial, companionable disposition. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the residence of his father, near Pittsburg, Rev. J. C. Martin, officiating. Interment at Battle Ground Cemetery.
