Earl Walker - Class Of 1880

Earl Walker

The people of Delphi were shocked Tuesday evening when news came from Shelbyville of the death of Earl Walker, president and manager of the Carroll Telephone company. Mr. Walker went to a sanitarium there, Thursday of last week, to take treatment. He died Tuesday afternoon, death being due to heart failure. Few men are better known in this city than Earl Walker. He has been an untiring worker and knew perfectly every detail of the telephone business. In 1911, Mr. Walker was united in marriage to Miss Sue Cartwright. To them was born a son, about five weeks ago. He was devoted to his family and left nothing undone to make them comfortable and happy. Besides his wife and son, he leaves his sister, Miss May, and brother, Charles, of Monroe township. Funeral services were held Friday morning at ten o'clock from the residence of his sister, Miss May Walker. Rev. C. L. Harper, of the Methodist church, officiated. Interment was made in the Odd Fellows' cemetery.
