Mrs. Lou Holmes Schermerhorn, 87, native of Delphi, died Tuesday evening in Santa Ana, California, where she had resided since 1943. She had lived in Indianapolis for a number of years before going to California. Born here May 30, 1861, she was the daughter of William Holmes. She was married to Ingold C. Schermerhorn in 1895. He died in 1916. She was a member of the Brookside United Brethren church in Indianapolis. Surviving are two sons, Bernard F., of Indianapolis, and Ingold of Santa Ana; 1 granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Catherine Brackenridge of Delphi. The body is to arrive (Thursday) evening at the Patrick Mortuary where funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Odell of Indianapolis officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery.
