Ella Ream - Class Of 1883

Miss Ella Ream passed away in Chicago Tuesday night after an illness of a few months from the effects of a tumorous growth. She was born and reared in this county and was an accomplished lady. After teaching in the county schools Miss Ream went to Chicago several years ago where she held responsible positions as a stenographer. About four months ago when her health began to fail she came here to visit her sisters, Mesdames F. M. Swatts and E. E. Barnard, expecting to go to Whatcomb, Wash., for an extended sojourn with another sister, Mrs. C. W. Metsker. She was unable to stand the trip, however, and returned to Chicago for treatment. The remains were brought to the home of Mrs. Barnard Wednesday afternoon and the funeral services were conducted there yesterday afternoon by Rev. James Omelvena. Burial took place in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
