Opal Cartwright Wood, 69, died suddenly at her home Thursday afternoon at 2:45 o’clock with a heart attack. She had been in ill health for several years but her death, came unexpectedly. She was born October 31, 1867, the daughter of Alison and Mariam Jennings Cartwright. She was a member of the Delphi Methodist church. Those surviving her are her husband. Will H. Wood, three sons, Charles and Robert, of Delphi, and John, of South Bend, also a brother, Charles A. Cartwright, of Delphi, and two sisters, Mrs. Sue Walker, of Delphi, and Mrs. Harry Shigley of Monticello. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence in South Delphi. Rev. Wilbur V. Day officiated. She was buried in the Masonic cemetery. The body was taken to the Grimm and Sons funeral home.
