Lela I. Underhill, 73, of Delphi, died May 13, 1986, at 4:17 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. She was born Dec. 13, 1912, in Delphi, a daughter of George and Susie Smith Beale. Her marriage on March 21, 1934 in Delphi, was to Gilbert O. Underhill and he preceded in death in 1982. Mrs. Underhill was a graduate of Delphi High School. She was formerly employed at Wynkoop Pharmacy for 18 years, retiring several years ago. She was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church and Alpha Chapter of Tri-Kappa. Surviving are a son, Gerry Underhill, Delphi; 2 daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Carol Sue) Ward, Jupiter, Fla. and Mrs. Dave (Janie) Smith, Delphi; two brothers. Charles and Paul Beale, both Rt. 4, Delphi; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitations will be from 5-9 p.m. todav at Horn Funeral Home. Services will be Thurs. at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Elwood Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
