Alice Thompson (Mohler) - Class Of 1940

DELPHI -- Alice M. Thompson Mohler, 88, of Delphi, died at 4:40 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. She had been in failing health and a resident there since March 2008.

Born Sept. 18, 1922, in Delphi, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Hester Marie Hayden Thompson.

On Jan. 13, 1962, she married Alvin E. Mohler in Delphi. He died May 30, 2003.

Mrs. Mohler attended Delphi High School and was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Delphi. She enjoyed reading, fishing, music and dancing. She and her husband wintered in Fort Myers, Fla.

Surviving are two sons, Edward Floyd of Lafayette and Robert Floyd (wife: Diane) of Delphi; four daughters, Sharon Perez (husband: Fred) of Lafayette, Karen Mohler of Indianapolis, Kathy Ingmire (husband: Earl) of Logansport and Cindy Goodin (husband: Dave) of Monticello; and a brother, Andrew Thompson of New Orleans, La.

Also surviving are 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, William; a grandson, Joshua; 2 sisters; and a brother.

Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Delphi, Pastor Scott Vana and Chaplin Zachary Rainey officiating. Burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg. Memorial contributions to the Indiana Alzheimer's Association, envelopes available at the funeral home.
