Cora Herr (Dunlap) - Class Of 1938

Cora E. Dunlap, 92, of Delphi, passed away on Wed., June 13, 2012 at 7:10 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Delphi.

She was born on March 24, 1920 in Cass County to the late Jesse B. and Cora B. (Steven) Herr.

She attended Delphi Schools and graduated from Huffers Beauty College in Lafayette.

Her first marriage was to John W. Girton in 1936. Her second marriage was to Robert L. Dunlap, Sr., on Sept. 17, 1950 in Lafayette and he preceded her on May 11, 1991.

Mrs. Dunlap owned and managed the Tecumseh Bend Beauty Shop for over 30 years, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of the Delphi First Christian Church and the Christian Women, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as their Chaplain. She also was a member of the Carroll County Historical Society and Friends of the Library.

She enjoyed doing volunteer work, traveling, reading, doing needlework and growing violets.

She is survived by sons: Phillip M. Girton (wife: Janice) of Delphi; Robert L. Dunlap, Jr., (companion: Debbie Lowe) of Battle Ground; daughter: Nancy J. Cripe (husb: Lloyd) of Delphi; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by 4 brothers, 4 sisters and a great-grandson.

Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Pastor Bob Duke officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rockfield.
