Floyd Jr. Johns - Class Of 1936

Floyd Johns Jr., 94, formerly of Carroll County, Jefferson Township, died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. He was born September 15, 1917, in Carroll County, to the late Floyd M. and Rose McCain Johns. His marriage was to Esther M. Boone in Silver City, N.M., on March 24, 1948, and she preceded him in death on January 12, 2005.

He attended school in Delphi and was an U.S. Air Force Veteran during WW II, stationed in Agra, India. He farmed all his life in Carroll and White counties. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Delphi, Delphi American Legion Post 75, Delphi VFW 9383 and the Monticello Eagles Lodge.

Surviving are his two sons, Barney J. Johns, Argos, N.M. and Larry (Wife: Linda) Johns, Delphi; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends will be received from 1 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012, until his memorial service at 2 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. The Rev. Bill McLean will officiate; Delphi and Camden American Legion's and the Delphi VFW will give Military Rites.
