
Georgia Foster, 99, West Lafayette, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at West Minster Health Care.
Born May 23, 1909 in West Lafayette and was a lifetime resident of Tippecanoe County.
On June 29, 1941, she married Thomas S. Foster. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Federated Church of West Lafayette.
She attended grade and high school in West Lafayette, earned a bachelor's degree in the school of Consumer and Family Sciences and a Master of Science in Home Economics, all from Purdue University.
She had a lifetime membership in the American Association of University Women, the Young Women's Christian Association, the American Association of Family and Consumer Science; the St. Elizabeth and Home Hospital Auxiliaries, and the Purdue Alumni Association. She was a longtime member of the John Purdue Club, the President's Council, Purdue Women's Club, past president of Altrusa and a 50-year member of Eastern Star Chapter 507.
During her many years of teaching, she supervised student teachers from Purdue University and Ball State University.
Survivors include a niece, Shirley Anne McGee, Olympia, Wash., a grand-niece, Gayle Brown, San Jose, Calif., and four grand-nephews, Michael McGee, St., David, Ariz.; Robert Ross, Sunnyvale, Calif., Ronald Ross, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Harold Ross, San Jose, Calif.
Graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
