Charles Wamsher - Class Of 1961

Charles L. Wamsher, 71, passed away on Thurs., Nov. 29, 2012, at 12:35 a.m., at Veterans Affairs Med Center in Danville, Ill.

Charles was born to the late Gerald Smith and Frances Mae (Sinks) Wamsher on Jan. 22, 1941, in Rockfield.

He earned his GED while serving in the US Air Force.

Mr. Wamsher had worked in the maintenance dept. at Essex Wire, retiring in 2003. He was a USA certified welder and owned and operated Wamsher Welding.

He enjoyed playing euchre, spending time with his family and friends. He also loved drinking coffee with the Arby's Liars Club.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Octember Kay Medlock of Mooresville; sons: Gerald David Wamsher of Lafayette and Chuck Minnicus of Wolcott; sisters: Geraldine Tharp of Lafayette, Doris Gray of Attica, Evelyn Tharp of Monticello, Mary Jane Tyra of Flora, Lois Ann of Elkhart and brother, Harold Wamsher of Buchanan, Mich. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Faith Medlock; Telaina, Zack, and Jason Minnicus; and Shane, Dustin, Katie, and Amanda Wamsher; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon until the 2 p.m. service on Monday, Dec. 3, at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi.

Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Delphi and Camden American Legions and Delphi VFW.

Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to the donor's favorite charity.
