David E. James, 83, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. He was born Sept. 11, 1927 in Carroll County to the late Charles James and Alice M. Lesley James. He was also preceded in death by a son, John; brothers, Roger and Ronald and a sister, Phyllis Cox. He married Agnes Ward on Sept. 12, 1981 in Radnor. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Katherine M. James of Sebring, Florida; stepsons, Gary D. Hufford (wife: Peggy) of Auburn and Jerry D. Hufford (wife: Esther) of White Pigeon, Michigan; brothers, Jerry James (wife: Mary), William James and Samuel James, all of Delphi; a sister, Marybelle Burns of Lafayette and 2 grandsons, Taj A. James of San Antonio, Texas and John E. James of Delphi. He served in Korea while in the U.S. Army.
