Beverly Hanaway (Hamelman)

Beverly J. Hanaway Hamelman, 82, of rural Delphi, died unexpectedly Tues-Oct 8, 2013 at 5:00pm at her residence. She was born Jan 8, 1931 in Carroll Co., IN, near Camden, to the late George & Louva Jones Hanaway. Her marriage was to Harry J. Hamelman in Delphi, on Apr 16, 1972, and he preceded her in death on Dec 13, 1991. She was a 1949 graduate of Delphi High School. She worked for 26 years for the Delphi Community School Corp., in the High and Middle School cafeteria's. After retirement, she was a bus aid for the kindergarten students, and the handicapped students for many years. She was an avid bowler, and belonged to the Monticello Women's League for many years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, and liked to read. She enjoyed Ohio State University Men's Basketball, and loved to decorate her home during the Christmas season, with many Christmas trees and ornaments. Surviving sons: Douglas & Carmen Haines of Ventura, CA, Charles & Cathy Haines of Delphi, Steve & Yvonne Haines of Delphi; daughter: Beverly & Tony Kemp of Francesville; sisters: Mary Disinger of Delphi, Annie & Dick Walters of Rockfield; brother: George & Janis Hanaway of Camden. 7 grandchildren: David, Jeremy, Janel, Jeanette, Olivia, Zachary, Brandon; 4 great grandchildren: Dean, Phillip, Kylie, Leah. Preceded in death by a son Joe; 3 brother's, 1 sister. Services: Friends may call Friday from 11am until her funeral at 1pm, at Abbott Funeral Home-Delphi.
