Louise Mullendore (Kauffman) - Class Of 1943

Louise M. Mullendore Kauffman, 90, of Colburn, died Tues.-July 15, 2014 at 7:35pm at her home. She was born May 29, 1924 in Yeoman, to the late Merle & Mildred Raider Mullendore. Her marriage was to Keith Wayne Kauffman in Delphi on Feb. 19, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1979. She was a 1943 graduate of Delphi High School. She worked at Purdue University for 22 years, starting in food service, then was postmistress of Earhart Hall, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Colburn United Methodist Church, the united Methodist women, the Colburn Home Ec Club, and the Colburn Community Club. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, crafts, vegetable and flower gardening, music, and painting. Her greatest love was her family, and all the time they spent together. Surviving: daughters Barbara & Jim Hilderbrand of Buck Creek, Nancy Evans of Colburn; sons: Richard & Madonna Kauffman of Lafayette, John Kauffman of Colburn, Charles & Vera Kauffman of Dale, WI; 15 grand & 6 stepgrandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandson Aaron Scott Kauffman; 3 sisters; son-in-law Jerry Evans. Services: Friends may call Sunday from 1pm until her funeral at 3pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. Pastor Dan Gottschalk & Brad Burton officiating. Burial at Center EUB Cemetery, Colburn. Memorial contributions to the Colburn United Methodist Church.
