Dorothea Mildred Hazlett, born in Ockley January 9, 1907, died December 24, 1982 in Fair Oaks, Calif., after a lengthy illness. The daughter of Phillip and Nora Hemmig, she was married in 1925 to Ewing Glenn Hazlett, who died Nov. 21, 1981. Mrs. Hazlett attended Delphi High School. Survivors include: one son, William, Austin, Texas; five daughters, Betty Lou Smith, Monticello; Marilyn Rupert, New Mexico; Carolyn Mallory, Fair Oaks, Ca.; Sherron Smith, Stone Mountain, Ga.; Gretchen Self, Carmichael, Ca.; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also, three brothers, Melvin, Ft. Wayne; Floyd, Hamlet; and Bryan, Chapel Hill, N.C.; three sisters, Edith Aldrich, Delphi; Louise Bear, Indianapolis; and Wanda Bowman, Bloomington. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a grandson. Services were in California Tuesday.
