Florence Groninger (Diemer) - Class Of 1917

Services for Florence Groninger Diemer, 99, of Miller's Merry Manor, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Diemer died at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 1999, in Miller's Merry Manor. Born Sept. 29, 1899, at the Groninger farm in Carroll county, she was the daughter of Frank and Addie McCain Groninger. In 1920, she was married in Carroll County to MacGowan "Mac" Coble, who preceded in death in 1938. On Oct. 22, 1966, in Chesterton, Ohio,she was married to Earnest A. "Ed" Diemer, who preceded in death. A 1917 graduate ot Delphi High School, Mrs. Diemer was a Carroll County school teacher. She attended Madam Blacker's Teachers College in Indianapolis In 1917, she taught at Adams Township School and in 1918, she taught at Burrows Primary School. In 1919, she taught at Sugar Grove School, all in Carroll County. A member of the Burrows Presbyterian Church, she also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are one sister, Adeline Wallar, Burrows; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding in death are one son,Eugene Forest Coble; two brothers,Charles Lowell Groninger, and Paul Groninger; and one sister, Margaret Stewart. The Rev. Ellis Gasser will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Brown Church Cemetery, Burrows. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
