Jane Berkebile (Moore)

Jane A. Moore, 77, of Delphi, died Mon.-Nov. 3, 2014 at 8:58pm at IU Health Arnett Hospital-Laf. She was born Jan. 20, 1937 in Chicago, IL, to the late Dale & Elizabeth Cook Berkebile. Her marriage was to James J. "Jim" Moore in Rochester on Aug. 16, 1959, and he survives. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1955; received her BS from DePauw University in 1959; received her MS from Purdue University in 1971. She taught elementary school for 3 years at Delphi Community School Corp., then taught at Carroll Elementary, Flora, for 22 years before retiring there. She was a Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority member at DePauw University, and was in the associate chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority in Delphi. She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, the Indiana State Retired Teachers Association, and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed flower gardening, scrapbooking, and loved to shop. She and her husband enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ for the past 19 years. She loved to travel with her family and friends. She dearly loved her husband, children, and grandchildren, they were her life. Surviving: husband-James J. "Jim" Moore of Delphi; daughter-Jerri Craven of Mundelein, IL; son-Tom & Pam Moore of Stilwell, KS; sisters-Ruth & Bill Caldwell of Overland Park, KS, Mary Bassett of San Diego, CA; brother-Dale & Mary Berkebile of Rapid City, SD; 4 grandchildren-Alanna & Jack Craven and Sarah & Amanda Moore. Services: The family will receive friends Friday from 12pm until her memorial service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. Rev. Todd Ladd will be officiating.
