Ruth Johnson

Ruth Johnson, 69, Delphi, died Wednesday evening, May 7, 1980, in her home after a six-year illness. Born Sept. 16, 1910, in Frankfort, her parents were Noble Jacob and Anna Lucas Hodgen. She married Paul H. Johnson August 31, 1935, in Frankfort, and he survives. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Delphi Presbyterian Church, Tri Kappa Sorority and the Indiana Association of Registered Nurses. She was a Frankfort High School graduate and in 1931 was graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing. She was a former superintendent of nurses at the Clinton County Hospital and was Delphi school nurse for two years. The Johnsons moved to Delphi in 1936 and owned the Ford dealership until 1959. Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Korb, St. Louis, Mo.; and Mrs. Richard (Susan) Klepinger, Elkhart; one sister, Mrs. William (Evelyn) Kerlin, Delphi and four grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi, with burial in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort. Memorials may be given to the Carroll County Cancer Association.
