Ralph Thomas "Van" Van Ostran, 88, of Lafayette, died at 4:15 a.m. April 1, 1994, in George Davis Manor, West Lafayette. He had been a patient there since Dec. 24 and in failing health since July. A resident of Lafayette for most of his life, he was born in Delphi on Jan. 18, 1906. He graduated from Delphi High School. He owned Van’s Body Shop in Lafayette for 38 years. His marriage was on Aug. 3, 1926, to Hazel C. Moore, who survives. Also surviving are one son, one daughter, two sisters, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and two sisters. Services and burial were Monday in Lafayette.
