Stanley Lyion

J. Stanley Lyon, 73, Rt. 1, New Richmond, died Thurs., June 19, 1980, in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. Born March 14, 1907, near Waynetown, he was the son of William and Pearl Mitchell Lyon. His marriage August 6, 1930, was to Ethel Arnold of Danville. He was a graduate of Central Normal College, Danville, and received his masters degree from Butler University. He served as a civilian instructor for the Army Air Force veteran of World War II and taught school in Montgomery, White and Carroll counties from 1930-72, retiring from Delphi School System. He also was a carpenter. Lyon was a member of Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ Wingate, and was past noble grand of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Crawfordsville. Surviving with the wife are two sons, William Robert Lyon of Crawfordsville and Stanley Eugene Lyon of Rt. 1, New Richmond, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Interment was in New Richmond Cemetery.
