Delphi Carroll County Comet October 11, 1989

Dear Class of 1994 of DCHS: On Sat., May 28th, 1994, my son, Benjamin Kessler Wargo would have graduated with you had he been alive. Ben was a very brave boy who lost his fight with cancer on Oct. 6, 1989, but his classmates forgot him on the day they graduated. I know to you 4 1/2 years is a long time and its hard to remember every classmate who has lost his life one way or another; but to their families they are never forgotten, not even for a minute. It would have meant a lot to us if you had remembered to mention his name. I’m glad you mentioned other classmates who have died more recently and I’m sure it meant a lot to their families. I’m not angry that you forgot Ben - only sad. But if Ben had been there to walk across the platform and receive his diploma with you, I would be one of the happiest moms alive. Best wishes to you. Class of 1994. Brenda Wargo

I'm very sorry for your loss, Ms. Wargo. And I'm very sorry for the oversight. I can't imagine losing my son. I remember Ben. I'm sure that many of my classmates do too.

Wishing you peace and comfort.

I remember Ben! I have over the years thought about him and how sick he was. I remember sitting in math class with him. I remember thinking how quite he was and in his eyes I thought he looked so strong! He never once complained to anyone about how sick he was! For a long time none of his classmates knew he was even sick! I apologize but please know Ben hasn't been forgotten! He had such a wonderful smile! I'm 40 years old and still remember him and I can still see the look on his face! Mrs. Wargo Ben did touch lives! Hugs to you! ((♡))
