Robert John Johnson I, 71, of Delphi passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette. He was born August 6, 1943 in Delphi to the late John William Johnson and Elizabeth Jane (Boyer) Johnson. He attended Delphi Schools. Robert married Carolyn Army in Logansport on April 28, 1961 and she survives. He was retired from the Foundry department at Globe Valve after 43 Years. After his retirement from Globe Valve he worked at his son Rob’s business Skyline Signs in Delphi. Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Frankfort Aerial, the Sons of the American Legion Post 11 in Lafayette, and the Frankfort VFW. He enjoyed going dancing, camping, fishing and watching his son and grandson race at Lake Cicott. And spending time with all his grandchildren and family and friends. Surviving with his wife Carolyn, are 2 Sons, Rob Johnson II wife Sue of Delphi, Rick Johnson wife Theresa of Lynn, Indiana, 3 Grandsons, Jason (wife:Liz) of Lafayette, and Ben and Matt Johnson both of Delphi and Step-grandchildren, Sarah of Ohio, Kesha of New Mexico and Khelsey of Lynn, IN. Also surviving is a Brother, Jim Johnson wife Rita of Delphi. He was preceded by his parents and 1 Brother Charles Johnson. Services for Robert will be Monday December 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi with Pastor John Wagner officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service. Burial will be in the IOOF Memorial Gardens at Pittsburg, Indiana.
