Calvin "Henry" Aldrich - Class Of 1931

Calvin E. “Henry” Aldrich, 63, of Rt. 2, Delphi, died at 10:35 a.m. Nov. 23, 1994, in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi, where he had resided since Oct. 18. Born Aug. 31, 1931, east of Ockley, he was the son of Ervil L. and Jessie M. Herr Aldrich. He attended Delphi schools. He owned Aldrich Contractors & Excavating in Delphi for many years. Prior to that, he worked for the former Fowler Furniture Store as a carpet layer for several years. He was caretaker of the Morning Heights Cemetery at Delphi and was a grave digger at various cemeteries in the Delphi area. A former member of the Carroll County Country Club, he was active in the men’s golf league and managed the country club for two years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are two sons, John Aldrich of Delphi and Rob M. Aldrich , a student at Mississippi State University; three daughters, Linda Aldrich of Delphi, and Becky Spear and Lisa Parsons, both of Buda, Texas; a brother, James E. Aldrich of Eugene, Ore.; two stepsisters, Sharon Serries and Lulu Belle Sacha, both of Delphi; his stepmother, Melba Aldrich of Delphi; a stepbrother, John Berkshire of Delphi; three step sisters, Sharon Parr of Monticello, Carol Berkshire of Logansport, and Elizabeth Ann Hiese of Burrows; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Services were Saturday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial was in Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi.
