John Barnett - Class Of 1945

John L. Barnett, 87, of rural Delphi, died Thurs.-Mar. 12, 2015 at 2pm at his residence. He was born July 20, 1927 in Tippecanoe Co., IN, to the late James & Gladys Merkle Barnett. His marriage was to Connie B. Macke in Delphi on Aug. 10, 1954, and she survives. He attended Delphi High School, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He worked for 43 years at the former Delphi Limestone Quarry, many of those years as Foreman, now U.S. Aggregates. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Delphi. He enjoyed bowling and woodworking. Surviving: wife-Connie B. Barnett of Delphi; daughters: Annett McWilliams of Louisville, KY, Reine Barnett of Lafayette, & Celia & Mike Tharp of Delphi; sister-Ruth & Glen Hines of Kokomo; grandchildren: Laura, Brande, John, Miranda, Ahmani, Marcus, Devin, & Molly. Preceded in death by a daughter Teresa; 4 brothers, 2 sisters. Services: A funeral Mass will be Monday-March 16, at 10am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Delphi. Father Robert Williams officiating, burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Delphi, with military rites by the Carroll County Honor Guard.
