Donald Berryman - Class Of 1941

Donald R. Berryman, 66, of Lafayette, formerly of Delphi, died at 7:02 p.m. April 21, 1990, in Home Hospital, where he had been a patient three days. He was born May 30, 1923, in Delphi, and was reared in Delphi. He lived in Chicago before moving to Lafayette in 1962. He also was a former resident of Washington, D.C. His marriage was on Aug. 6, 1945, in San Francisco, to Dorothy Irene Fauset, who survives. A graduate of Delphi High School, he was an international representative of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 38 years, retiring in 1983. A World War II Navy veteran, he served in the South Pacific. He was a member and former trustee of the Moose Lodge in Lafayette, a member of VFW Post 1154, a life member of American Legion Post 75 in Delphi, and a past commander of the American Legion Post 446 in Chicago. Surviving with his wife are one son, Ronald Berryman of Lafayette; three daughters, Diane Voight, Patricia Hamilton, and Donna Bader, all of Lafayette; a sister, Opal Louden of Flora; two brothers, Glen Berryman of Lafayette and John Berryman of Lakeland, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren. A son preceded him in death. Services were Tuesday in Lafayette, with entombment in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
