Betty Clawson (Lauderdale) - Class Of 1946

Betty Lauderdale, 81, of Monticello, formerly of Flora, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at White County Memorial Hospital in Monticello

She was born June 19, 1928, in Radnor, to Lawrence and Dorothy Ruffner Clawson. She attended New Hope Schools in Delphi. On Feb. 26, 1949, she married Gaylon Lauderdale in Illinois and he preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1988.

Mrs. Lauderdale had worked at Zinn's Custom Cabinets for 26 years. She attended the Radnor United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one son, Steve Lauderdale (wife: Debra) of Rushville; one daughter, Sharon Wilson (husband: Denny) of Lafayette; three sisters; Wilma Jo Lantz of Deer Creek, Patricia Matthews of Flora, and Janet Everett (husband: Bill) of Delphi; one brother, Larry Clawson (wife: Carol) of Delphi; four grandchildren, Chris Lauderdale (wife: Patricia), Kyle Lauderdale (wife: Rebecca), Jamie Wilson (wife: Michelle) and Jason Wilson (fiancée: Jamie), and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and three grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Pastor Bill Godbey officiated. Burial followed at Zion Citizens Cemetery near Bringhurst.
