Richard F. "Dick" Schmitter, 61, of Carroll Manor, died at 2:36 PM Saturday, Dec. 29, 1990, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. Born Aug. 3, 1929, in Carroll County, he was a lifelong resident of the county and had been a resident of Carroll Manor for ten years. Mr. Schmitter graduated from Delphi High School, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delphi. Surviving are six brothers, Francis Schmitter of Oxford, AL, Tobias Schmitter of Frankfort, Paul Schmitter of Columbus, OH, Robert Schmitter of Monticello, Lawrence Schmitter of Lapel, and Hubert Schmitter of Norway; and three sisters, Marie Randle of Oxford, IN, Anna Wetli of Earl Park, and Mary Busald of Rushville.
