Mary Catherine "Katie" Harney, 71, of Rt. 3, Delphi, died at 10:35 p.m. Feb. 13,1991, in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born March 25, 1919, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Morgan Day. Her marriage was on Oct. 22, 1943, in Anderson, to Robert L. "Bob" Harney, who survives. She had worked at Globe Valve Corporation in Delphi for 33 years, retiring in 1984. She attended Delphi schools and had been a member of the former Episcopalian Church in Delphi. Surviving with her husband are one son, Randy Lee Harney of Los Alamitos, Calif.; a sister, Hazel Clark of Monticello; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Day of Rt. 2, Monticello. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services were Saturday at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Delphi, with Rev. John Nalley officiating. Horn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Carroll County Cancer Association.
