Dale Sanders - Class Of 1960

Dale L. Sanders Jr., 50, of Lafayette, died of an apparent heart attack at 4:11 p.m. May 17. 1992, in the emergency room at Home Hospital. He had been bicycling in the Corporate Fitness Challenge in Lafayette when he was stricken. Born Feb. 7, 1942, in Frankfort, he attended Delphi schools. He lived in Delphi until moving to the Lafayette area in 1967. His marriage was on Feb. 24, 1961, in Delphi to Pamela Sue Downham, who survives. He had been employed at Fairfield Mfg. Co. for 26 years and was a foreman in the miscellaneous turning department. He was a member of Fairfield Athletic Association and the 25- year club. He was a former member of the Studebaker Driver’s club. Also surviving are a son, Dale L. Sanders III, of Lafayette; a daughter, Tracy Bell of Bringhurst; his mother, Alma Sanders of Attica; three grandsons; and his grandmother, Lorane Rater of Attica. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, and one sister. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette. Friends may call from 5-7 tonight. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.
