Myra Mercedes House (Snowberger) - Class Of 1944

M. Mercedes Snowberger, 79, of Delphi, died at 10:55 p.m. on Feb. 12, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. Born in Pine Township, Warren County, on April 16, 1925, she was the daughter of Lester and Myra Redman House. She was a 1944 graduate of Delphi High School. Her marriage was to Richard T. Dick” Snowberger on Dec. 1, 1944, in Attica, and he died March 31, 2002. Mrs. Snowberger was a homemaker and a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburg. She enjoyed writing to her pen pals around the world, reading, sewing, and embroidering. Surviving are three daughters, Lisa Harrison (husband: Dwayne) and Kathy Baker, all of Monticello, and Debra Storey (husband: Mark) of Delphi; a son, Jim Snowberger (wife: Kelli) of Delphi; three sisters, Barb Taylor (husband: Dick) of Crawfordsville, Janet Fields (husband: Bill) of Waynetown, and Elnor Mouer (husband: Gerald) of Mt. Vernon; a brother. Bill House (wife: Judy) of Attica; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas, in 1990; two sisters, Babe and Fran; and a brother, Bob. Services were today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Stewart officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
