Fannie Shealy - Class Of 1883

Miss Fannie Shealy, 82, a former resident of Delphi, died early Friday morning at St. Petersburg, Florida. Death was due to complications from injuries received in a bus accident in the Florida city several days previous to her death. Born in Lafayette in 1865, she was the daughter of Michael and Johanna (Berry) Shealy. The family moved here during the early childhood of Miss Shealy and she attended the parochial school and the Delphi high school. For many years she was a type-setter at the Delphi Citizen when the late A. B. Crampton was editor, and made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Crampton. She later took a position as proof reader for a Hammond printing firm. She had been living in Florida for several years. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine and Emma Shealy and a brother, William. There are no immediate, relatives other than a nephew, William Green Shealy of California. The body was returned here for burial Sunday afternoon from the Patrick Mortuary. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery.
