Ethel Robbins (Haslet) - Class Of 1909

Mrs Ethel May Robbins Haslet, 95, departed this life on December 28, 1986, at 9:30 a.m. at the Brethren Home in Flora, where she had resided for two years. Born in Deer Creek Township, Carroll County, March 17, 1891. she was the daughter of Joseph E. and Emeline Biddle Robbins. She was married on March 23, 1910, to Lotie Haslet who preceded her in death in 1970. Mrs. Haslet formerly resided in the Ockley area where her husband owned and operated the Ockley Grain Elevator and also was the Trustee in Clay and Madison Township. She attended Delphi schools and at one time attended the Rockfield Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two sons William R. Haslet, Denver, Colorado and Joe W. Haslet of Yakima, Washington; and two daughters. Mrs. Fred (Irene) Hansen, Ashland, Oregon and Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Hawkins. Indainapolis. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, 7 brothers and 1 sister. Calling was Tuesday, December 29, with services today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at the Delphi United Methodist Church with Rev. James Rankin presiding. Burial will be In the Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
